 About Our Lab

Research in the Aging and Wellbeing Lab focuses on identifying modifiable risk factors that are associated with cognitive change, dementia, and functional impairment in late life. We employ basic and applied research methods. We also develop behavioral interventions that promote health and emotional well-being in older adults.

Lab Director

Dr. Cassandra Germain is an educator and researcher in the health and behavioral sciences. Her research focuses on identifying modifiable risk factors that are associated with cognitive change, dementia, and functional impairment in late life. Dr. Germain is also interested in behavioral interventions that promote health and emotional well-being in older adults and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. She was also a dementia caregiver for almost 10 years.
